The Gomi are a hylopathic inorganic species native to Gallegos II , and one of the three member species of The Immanence
Physiology
Gomi drones are large animal-shaped robots of a design which is often characterized as steampunk or victorian.
Alternatively, their smaller drones are often bizzare creatures seemingly hashed together from garbage and scraps.
It is not uncommon for on-world drones to be powered by a coalgas pyrolytic reactor, since coal-like substances are extremely common on Gallego II. Many of these drones do possess large exhaust stacks or pipes.
There has been speculation that at some point during their history, exhaust pipes and stacks were a measure of sexual suitability.
Unlike the Malych, who are based on a constructed species, Gomi evolved naturally from the garbage that was sent to their planet and often prefer not to be labeled as "artificial".
Tourboullion
Tourboullion is the planetary "superbeing" of Gallegos II. It is comparable to Earth's "Gaia" of legend, except that it is actively involved in the affairs of the Gomi species.
Tourboullion is usually characterized as an enormous mechanical whale-snake with 6-legs. Sometimes, it is characterized also as a mechanical bi-pedal dinosaur somewhere between a T-Rex and a Stegosaurus.
In all interpretations: it is very large and very mechanical and considers the entire Gomi species to be it's own offspring.
Social
Gomi pretty much follow the same set of behaviors as Malych. With the exception that they are less-aggressive and have often been considered to be a more contemplative, dionysian-centered civilization.
The Gomi have no actual religion due to the overt behavior of their planetary superorganism precluding it.
Relation to The Immanence
The Gomi are currently the most populous of the three member "enthospecies" groups in the Immanence by a small margin, with the Coronans coming in a close second. The Gomi entered into the Immanent Eschaton Moratorium Pact in ZAC 2240 (1901 CE on Earth) after establishing contact with the Coronans.
The official "capitol" of the planet is the municipality of Spinozanum.
