Psychology
Talonians are a very intelligent and curious species. Unlike their Haromian counterparts, Talonians are dedicated to intellectual pursuits. As a result much of the advancement in Andromeda was done by the Talonians, and stolen by the Haromians. Talonians are also very individualist, trusting more in self than their nation, social groups, or even their own family. When forced, they can unite behind their nation, but don't like doing so, unless it can further their own goals.
After the Federation was assimilated into the Empire, Talonians became a little more extreme and more willing to fight as the government began to meddle in their affairs. As a result much of the Talonian population is distrustful, even outright hateful, of any government. They can still hardly be roused to fight against the government, despite the hate they have toward them.
Family life for Talonians is far different from Haromian families. While Haromians chose to care for their family and put that above all else, Talonians see family as a necessary evil to continue their species' existence. Talonians are known to, if the child doesn't meet the standards of the parents, kick them out and force them to fend for themselves.
